Jul. 20th, 2004 02:42 pmTo my Spiritual Brother
... the one who lost his way
I know, for a while, your heart had been torn
The love you had... and the way you were born.
It's hard to overcome what's in your genes.
Fighting seems impossible against what is obscene.
I understand why you gave up this long fight
(And now, what I say must sound contrite.)
But that doesn't forgive you stumbling another.
I can't believe I lost my spiritual brother.
The Snake found your weakness and played on it
And caused you to make the most serious split:
One from He who would always guide you,
He who said "Serve me, and I'll be true."
I'm saying all this, though it may not sound right,
To show there's a reason to come back to the light.
In the corner of my heart, there's love like no other
Calling back a lost sheep, my lost spiritual brother.
... the one who lost his way
I know, for a while, your heart had been torn
The love you had... and the way you were born.
It's hard to overcome what's in your genes.
Fighting seems impossible against what is obscene.
I understand why you gave up this long fight

In the corner of my heart, there's love like no other
Calling back a lost sheep, my lost spiritual brother.
