i don't know how many of you watch "so you think you can dance"... but tonight... guh...
ok, so maybe it wasn't their idea to see how mixed couples would work (black and white), though that's what it ended up being.
but... i mean... they've created this great monster of a couple. donielle and benji. yep. benji is the western swing champ of the US and donielle is a normal sized girl (which makes her too big to be a 'dancer,' per se, but she's got trouble with her weight, etc etc). so far they've danced every dance they've been given as sexy as anything and they are just like... *cue sparks and chemistry and perfection*
tonight was by far the hottest i've ever seen. and it was a VIENNESE WALTZ. not something that's supposed to be hot in today's world. oh no. this was HOT as in *GETS YOU ALL SEXED UP IN FRONT OF PEOPLE, BUT IS TOTALLY ROMANTIC AND REMINDS YOU OF LIKE... SPAIN IN THE 1800s* they danced to "Have You Ever Loved a Woman" by some guy... that i've heard before. and you'd think they'd do something like a tango or whatever. but they get out there and VIENNESE WALTZ. and he lifts her. like she weighs nothing.
now, to me, the waltz has to be the most beautiful dance out there. it flows and it's love and give and take and the world is just you two. and this monster of a couple EXECUTES IT PERFECTLY. and they're looking like they're wrapped up in each other and breathing each other's air and just so completely *guh* and...
and at the end, (i realize this is just an act for tv, as far as it goes, i mean) they're standing there, with their hands like... all around each other and in each other's hair like they're *this* close to kissing or like... stripping and having their wicked way with each other and... just breathing each other in back and forth and the crowd is just roaring and... totally wow.
and then, when they go up to get judged, they're like... still wrapped. his arms are all around her and it's this great like... it's like they've been together forever and they're best friends and maybe lovers and dance partners and the world should just bow to their greatness.
my god. it was just... and i know it's not true cause he's just really a good dancer and if he gets a partner that can DANCE with him, they're together like total chemistry with the dance. not to mention he's like... total christian and virgin (his admission) and the first time they danced together was like shock of a lifetime (they did hip-hop and a song about too much booty in the pants and yes, she had to do the booty rub all on him and that had to have been like !!!!!!!! to him, since his usual dance partner is his COUSIN) for him and.... so to have them just be so perfect for each other....
my god. they've created this monster... i don't even have a better word for it. it's just... this juggernaut. there's no stopping them. unless they get thrown just way way off... they're perfect. she gets any style that's laid out for her and he goes with the flow and is just her perfect counterpart in strength and... they didn't even know what the viennese waltz was before last week.
