my head hurts. meh. this bites.
in other news... i read the latest from LKH. Micah. it was nice...
not the usual fare, of course. and it read a lot faster. novella??? i
think so. but, yeah. it was cool. i'm not sure if it helped me understand
more about micah... ya know... like it's supposed to. but i mean...
ok. so now i know how he became a were. and why he and anita are so...
groovy together. and that he's on his best behavior and he's just as bad as
the rest of the men in her life (read: jean-claude).
i still don't get why he's so... accepting all the time. or what real role
he has to play in her life. or what purpose he serves, other than nimir-ra,
which could just as easily have been nathaniel.
anyway. i read it today. in like... 45 minutes. dead serious. just under
200 pages in 45 minutes. i'm shocked and amused and a little disappointed.
it's a break from the usual, i'll give her that. and i give her points for
trying. and it makes up for that sad that was Incubus Dreams... since that
was a total rip.
but... i mean... *sigh* it's not that i don't *like* the book. but it's
lost a lot of the magic that was Guilty Pleasures and The Laughing Corpse.
It's now just rehashing and making her out to be some super-powerful slut.
She uses the men in her life like toilets and tissue. jeeeeeeeeeeeesus.
it's like she's gone and made the beginning fan-fic-er's mistake: give them
too much power and make it so they're basically screwing and indestructable.
*sigh* maybe it's just that i have a headache. that may be it. but i read
it in a really short time span and now i'm feeling a bit... i miss the
series. i'm gonna have to reread it... if only to get the old magic back.
