So this is what a high school reunion tastes like: bitter, lukewarm and awkward.

I thought it was just that morning, when nothing felt like it was supposed to. When I couldn't hold a conversation with people I knew thought in the same lines as I did only a while before. I thought it was just the rush of an early morning and no sleep and the tensions between the between. I didn't expect it from her, not this time. Not a half-assed hello and an almost complete dismissal.

So this is what it feels like, cold and full of ashes. A reminder that we're too old now to be who we were then, but still too young to talk about marriages and kids and mortgages. An obvious sign that too much time has passed for us to be friends, but not enough time has passed for us to reminisce.

Jesus. This is what reunions are. Growing up and apart and never having enough time to come full circle.
