Secrets and Lies
□ The first time I remember wishing my parents dead was my junior year of high school. They’d argued all summer and were on the verge of divorce because my dad had a roving eye and my mother wouldn’t stand for it. She’d nearly thrown him out again when they cooled off. After a summer of useless build up, they decided to go on a cruise together. I prayed that the ship would sink, or that the reports of entire ships being decommissioned due to food poisoning would be their ship. They came home. I haven’t stop wishing they’d died since.

□ I don’t tell anyone my issues. That’s probably why I have incessant heartburn, insomnia and eating problems.
