001. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
002. I will respond by asking you ANY five questions of a very intimate and creepily personal nature. Or not so creepy/personal.
003. You WILL update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
004. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the post.
005. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.
1. If you could pick any occupation, anywhere, what would it be?
i would love, love, love to be a writer. forget french, forget translation or teaching. forget tech support (i feel as if i should be wearing a yellow polo, but on the bonus side, bigger desk as of late). i would love to be a real-life Carrie Bradshaw. maybe not in new york, not permanently. but i'd like to travel, write a book, publish it, and be well known for it. if not that... well... i don't think there's a job out there for me that will allow me to travel, sleep late, make my own hours, and still make money.
2. If you had to pick between American TV and British TV - and no downloading - forever, what would you pick?
NO DOWNLOADING??? god. well, on the one hand, british tv teeeechnically has american tv too, just a year late. or so. i'd probably choose british tv based solely on the format. given shows like torchwood-- they make every season wrap up in itself so that, should they be canceled, they can be without the outry that comes from the viewers. imagine if firefly had done the same thing?? genius. on the other hand, i would probably not get such awesome shows as kings, supernatural, stargate, house... and that would be sad.
3. On this week's episode of
wellowned, what music was playing? :D
placebo. lots and lots of placebo. and maybe some gnarls barkley. and erykah badu, maybe. and edith piaf, once? but this is what my itunes says:
my sweet prince--placebo
lips of an angel--hinder
behind the wall--tracy chapman
like a stone--audioslave
get out alive--three days grace
ballad of a thin man--bob dylan
insomnia--silverchair
pierrot the clown--placebo
4. If you could be rich enough to do whatever you wanted, whenever you wanted -- and living somewhere you absolutely despised; or so poor you could never do anything and living somewhere you loved (obviously in this scenario these places aren't lovable/hatable because of their opportunities to go out) -- which one would you choose?
god. to be rich. hands down. i mean... i absolutely love london. it makes me feel like a kid in a candy store, honestly. so much stuff. but if i was rich, i could always visit where i love. i would be content if i always had the ability to go to a friend's house, sit on their couch, and chill. so, i mean, if i had the money to do what i'd like, as i like, when i like... i'd take that and a shitty place. it won't stop me having friends and other places to crash if need be.
5. What's your favorite thing about yourself?
i have occasional moments of brilliance. the book i'm in the beginning stages of writing is like... really spot-on when it comes to imagery. like, i don't always have it together in explanation. and it's hard for me to concentrate on writing it. but i've accidentally made sure that the feelings i want to convey are there in the setting. i mean, it's all deserts and wasteland; caves; white or red light, contrasting with a night devoid of all light.... the assumed meanings behind those things (dream analysis, etc)... it's all dead on. and i love that i came up with that without realizing i was doing it at the time. ACCIDENTALLY SMART, THAT'S ME.
that, and i've got an awesome head for trivia. and i'm a really responsible adult when sneaking out to hang out with friends. but that's neither here nor there.
