About Sin.
Not Enough:
The policy of being too cautious is the greatest risk of all ~ Jawaharlal Nehru
Having her beside him is everything he could have ever hoped. Sometimes he feels needy, unloved and imperfect and unworthy of her affections. Of her time and her smile. And the rings he gave her-- the claddagh promise and the ruby engagement-- the Celtic knot necklace... they mean nothing in the grand scheme of things.
He sighs and tries to find a way to show her just what she means to him. Being cautious and quiet has never proven itself to be less harmful than the risks he takes. He imagines that, given the right stimulus, he could give her anything and everything she ever desired. He could cut her a maze in the football grounds, or pay Alex to take a series of portraits of her. He could choreograph a dance and have his entire graduate class perform it on the rooftop three times daily until he's sure she saw it.
He could sell his boat and take her wherever she wanted to go in the world. Kneel at her feet and be her slave until time stands still.
And it still would not be enough.
