wellownedbkupaside from all else, here's what i love about today:
the hottest poetry professor ever (tm) was sick today. so brian leung, the professor from last semester poetry, taught. he kept giving these... comments at me cause he kinda knows i'm all for meter and rhyme, but whitman is anything but that. anyway. that wasn't the best part.
the best part is a toss up between (1) how my dorky comments about how whitman is all "i'm awesome. hear me roar!!" got laughs as much as my thinky comments about how his leaves of grass deals with scripture, Everyman, democracy and the link between being accepting and part of a whole like a blade of grass; or (2) how i've become infamous among the english department and my professors enjoy having my thinkiness in their classes and tell other professors so.
actually, it's probably more the latter. it's both scary (OMG THEY KNOW WHO I AM RUUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNNNN) and flattering (oh, hey, they think i'm awesome). now if only i became an english major. or minor. or something. huh.
