meh, my sugars went up this morning. it may be because of eating cookies last night. but i really, really just wanted some cookie.
at least i know what i need to do. step one is, after this morning, i need to wake up early enough to get and/or eat breakfast at home. mcdonalds for breakfast is the worst. i mean, it's tasty, but too full of calories to be healthy. :(
step two is to buy a decent pair of shoes. i need to exercise, and i'm not really prepared for that today. (i am SO COLD i can't really even move) i'm giving this week a chance to settle into a routine before i worry about the gym. next week? the gym. even if i have to wear my stupid payless tennis shoes. starting today, though, i'm taking the stairs at least half the time at work (downstairs to start, then working my way up to strictly taking the stairs). now that i'm back in school, at least i'll be on the stairs more often. all my classes are on the second floor and i can't bring myself to take the elevator to the second floor unless i just feel all kinds of miserable.
step three happens friday. i'm going to weight watchers (again) because i know it works (even if i had the shakes all the time) and i'm forcing myself to buy the 17 week package (because my doctor says i need to be accountable to someone and if i don't make the commitment, i won't go). so. there's that. even if i don't follow their plan, i'll at least have a regular weigh in and whatnot. may even buy a pedometer sometime this week. and an ipod. (spending money, i does it.)
small goals, though. stop eating mcdonalds for breakfast. start taking the stairs at least part of the time at work (3rd floor to 1st isn't that much work). pay for the 17 weeks at weight watchers.
i'm not asking for enormous change. i don't want to be a size 10 or below. i'll be happy at a 16 or so. i just want to be able to try on clothes and buy off the rack and not pay double because they had to use extra fabric.

The shakes
Date: 2010-01-08 12:53 am (UTC)I always carry almonds and baby carrots around with me wherever I go, I hate *hate* being hungry. WW also has some great tasting, but rather expensive bars that I like.
You can do this, and I am sooo with you on the exercise front. Though you will laugh when you here that my personal trainer has me come to the gym in my converse (Target specials! *lol*) to do my strength training. Just goes to show that even the experts don't expect you to plonk down a bunch of money.
I miss size 16, I would definately like to know how that feels again!
Hang in there, you can do this.
Re: The shakes
Date: 2010-01-08 03:21 am (UTC)i want to get those nikes that also work with ipods for distance training and stuff. i'd like to be able to record my workouts like that, but *shrug* i guess it's not meant to be.
i haven't seen a size 16 for about half my lifetime. it's simultaneously depressing and horrifying. but yeah. i don't expect to become a bombshell. i just want to be able to buy off the rack. so. baby steps.
