Also, Mom listened to Sun Child, by the Vines. Because that is one of the few that isn't harder rock and doesn't cuss. and she said they sound like the early beatles... minus paul mccartney's voice. but she doesn't hate my choice in music. not like dad. dad wants to know where he went wrong.

and my brother, lovely boy that he is, wants me to get any copies i can of the strokes, smashing pumpkins... stp... classic alternative. he was sad when i said i'd only known one smashing pumpkins song.

i shall return shortly. off to work.

The Vines actually did a cover of "I'm Only Sleeping" by The Beatles for the I am Sam soundtrack. And yes, because I'm a big dork I didn't realize it was The Vines until my parents bought the soundtrack.

nifty. i thought i was the only one who thought they sounded like that. that's why i made my mom listen. as far as i'm concerned, it's the beatles, trying to break into the music scene today. even though the vines have been out for a while... and they have an affinity with the word fuck. but, that's pretty cool.
