does anyone else think that the uriel/castiel story was supposed to mirror sam/dean, but it got kinda convoluted on the way? just what with castiel's speech about how they're brothers and have been together for forever... just made me think that maybe that's how it was supposed to be. like a foregleam of the final battle.

Ooooh, nice thinking. I mean, I'm not sure... But it makes sense that like, I don't know, maybe it's about being on the same side but their being a sort of corruption in one partner. Hm.
