hey, if y'all are members (or become members!!) of [livejournal.com profile] therealljidol, could y'all please vote for my entry @ shadows_of? i'm beginning to worry that maybe people don't actually *like* what i write and are going to call me on it this week.

why? because my latest entry has pretty much a third or a half of the highest in that bracket's entry's votes... and it's pretty much THE SAME EXACT ENTRY. down to the reference to Glamour Shots and the requisite pic at the end. swear i didn't read hers beforehand, but still. it's almost exactly alike, but i get less than half her votes. i know i'm a newbie to LJ Idol and she's been around awhile. but still. this strikes me as odd.

just. ok. discount my whining. please vote for this lame loser because, hey. i'd like to stay in the game for a little bit longer. i'd like folks to read my stuff and actually comment and make me feel wanted or validated or ok, maybe the slightest bit internet famous, ok? attention, i wants it.

Already voted! And I wouldn't worry, you've got quite a few votes on the person with the least in our tribe.

I think you're pretty safe this round, barring a massive swell in votes for the poor folks with 10 and 14 votes.

I think you're at a disadvantage because of the similar subject matter. I voted for you, but I had to click back and forth between yours and the other because, even with my spreadsheet, I thought I must have been making a mistake in voting for one of you.

Your writing styles are different, but with 200 entries, similar subject matter puts both of you at a bit of a disadvantage.

(and, wow, it seemed like half the entries this time were either about the Charlie Chaplin "Smile" song or about babies)

i saw that. i wish i'd read hers beforehand so i wouldn't have had the similar subject matter. it just... yeah. similar experiences, clearly.

next time, i'll do better.

Don't worry...it doesn't look like a lot of the votes are in yet, judging from the amount of comments I'm seeing on entries.

At least you didn't get lambasted for calling someone on an incident of blatant racism :P

Hexkitten's entry. I called her on it and got bounced around by her friends and her.

Yeah, I don't see color.

Kinda hard to see color when you're nearly blind. Seriously people's faces are a blur to me in the first place. In the second place, I have something like this but it's not quite the same because mine is due to brain injury. Faces often don't register at all or stay registered. I depend on other clues like vocal intonation and actions (such as acts of kindness or aggression or how they treat people around them) to tell me about the person.

And I'm not white. Osage. Last I looked, that's a Native tribe and part of the Sioux nation. Not white.

Not that it should matter, which was my point.

Oops, I didn't mean to spew in your journal *crawls back under her rock* (hey, can you tell me what color it is? Wouldn't want to offend it :D)

ugh. people....

i get what you mean. and apparently they don't particularly care one way or the other about how you feel, especially with the patent apology and standing by their whole... "you were wrong even if you didn't know it, so i'm still right" apology entry and response to your comment on it.

thanks for letting me know. that's something that no one should stand for: the mob mentality in someone's journal or assumptions about who someone else is on the internet. there's gotta be a good reason why things are being said the way they are online.

Yeah...they don't actually have to look at the person and fess up. Ah, well. It's LJ Idol :D
