hi guys.

just had a slight question to ask.

when NaNoWriMo rolls around again, i'd like to write about nix. he's one of my more fully developed characters, and i can write about his past a lot easier than trying to come up with something new.

that being said... i was wondering if anyone would object to me borrowing this universe for a book that won't get published. if it was going to get published, i would definitely change names, some history... and you'd all get credit and royalties. however, since i have no faith in myself... not published.

i want to be able to write 50 000 words, so i thought i'd start with something i know.

basically, the chars i'd bring up are: liam, jade, oliver, shaylee with a possible mention of matt, jilly, nath, aspasia, salemandleo, scottandash... and maybe someone else. but i'm focusing mainly on past life. pre-seca. and mostly pre-liam. i think i want to end on liam. so, i'd be using mostly my characters, with appearances from everyone that really makes a difference.

so, yes. thought i'd at least ask before i went off and did something rash. if you don't wish me to use your chars, lemme know.

I don't really mind, although I'm not sure Angel has you friended so you might want to copy this over to secadiscuss.

...however...I'd want to see what you did with my chars at least, and I'm pretty sure some of the others would. Just in the sense of, "would my chars actually say this stuff?" You know? They're actually people in my head, I know how they'd react.

I wouldn't be too much of a nazi about it, I just kind of want to avoid things like the Jade/Nix craziness of last year :P

ps: technically if you're already thinking about changing names/histories for publication, you could just invent NPCs for yourself/write in an alternate universe and avoid people like me being all annoyingly bitchy and obsessive about our chars. I don't care either way but it might be easier.

I appreciate that you'd rather pick my brain than have chars be ooc. (No sarcasm there at all. I really do. It means a lot to me that my chars be intact.)

And SECA is a great world to write in, I mean, geez, I've written in it before (although, mostly just in a two character setting). Personally, I think Nix's story is complex enough to make a novel out of pre-SECA, but I can totally understand you wanting that verse, as it's helped his development and stuff. Writing's always good.

But yeah, I'd advise getting permish from all of the others. I didn't create SECA or Woodhaven, I'm far from the last word on these things.

Well, I suppose I'm going to end up being the wet blanket here, but to be honest, I'd rather my characters weren't used. It's nothing personal, I just get weird about my characters.
